The Bigotry of the Party of Tolerance
Why oh why does politics have to get so damn personal. Why oh why are the supposedly more tolerant liberals, the ones that get offended by people that disagree with them? Why is intolerance the keystone position of the party of tolerance? Why is that if you disagree with certain policies it could only the only reason be that you are heartless person? What happened along the way that made them HATE those who disagree? When did that kind of hatred and bigotry become ok?

Comments:
Here is the problem -- When an individual does not possess the intellectual fortitude to support his or her points, he or she resorts to other ways to try to silence his or her opponents. In this case, liberals sometimes resort to name calling and personal attacks. This method of argument takes the focus off of oneself and places it on the opponent. Often, this is effective by slandering the other person, making them look less honest, less just, whatever. However, someone who truly looks at this "argument" realizes it isn't an argument at all, but a tactic that hopefully will make the liberal look brighter because they are being viewed in comparison to a darker background. This is similar to the optical illusion we've all probably seen a thousand times, The Lady and the Hag. The hole in this tactic is that the liberal never actually presents his or her own viewpoint or solution and does not describe how this is superior -- rather, they attack not only viewpoints but also the opponent personally, so that no matter what the opponent says the liberal conveys the message that we should plug our ears and hum madly, because the opponent is just a big poopy head. Or wait, was that was my 5 year old niece? I often confuse the debating tactics of the two...
